<h1>Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came</h1><p>第2课时 Section A 3a-4c</p><h5>教学目标</h5><h6>一、知识与技能</h6><p>1. 巩固上节课所学的重点句型。</p><p>2. 掌握重点 词汇 英语3500词汇语境记忆pets3考试词汇二年级反义词和近义词初中词汇词汇大全考研英语二高频词汇表 和短语。</p><p>3. 培养阅读理解能力。</p><h6>二、过程与方法</h6><p>在上一节课的学习中学生们已有了相当的基础,通过复习引入本课,利用多种练习方式从听、说、读、写四个方面入手进行教学活动。               </p><h6>三、情感态度与价值观</h6><p>树立邻里之间,同学、朋友之间互帮互助的意识,特别是在有困难的时候。</p><h5>教学重点</h5><p>掌握本课重点词汇和句型。</p><h5>教学难点</h5><p>能熟练应用本课重点词汇和句型。</p><h5>教法导航</h5><p>借助于多媒体来进行练习和巩固。</p><h5>学法导航</h5><p>读、写、练相结合。</p><h5>教学准备</h5><p>图片,多媒体。</p><h5>教学过程</h5><p>Step 1 Greetings</p><p>Greet the students as usual.  </p><p>Step 2 Revision</p><p>Ask some pairs to role play the dialogue in 2d.</p><p>Step 3 Presentation</p><p>Show a short video about the natural disasters and ask the students:What’s the weather like before the disaster started? What are you and your families doing when the disaster came? What’s the neighborhood like after the storm? Ask the students to talk about the questions in groups. Then ask some students to report their answers.</p><p>Step 4 Reading</p><p>3a, Read the passage quickly and answer the questions:1. What news was reported on TV? 2.What was Ben doing when the rain began to beat heavily against the windows? 3. What did the neighbors do after the heavy rainstorm? Ask some students to report their answers.</p><p>    3b Then ask the students to read the passage carefully and complete the sentences using information from the passage.</p><p>Step 5 Discussion </p><p>Ask the students to discuss the questions with a partner:“Although the storm broke many things apart,it brought families and neighbors closer together.” What other things can bring people closer together? How can we help each other in times of difficulty? For example,how can we help each other when we have some difficulty in studying? After discussion,ask some students to report their answers.</p><p>    Step 6 Game</p><p>Ask the students to work in pairs to ask and answer the dialogue in grammar focus like this:A:What were you doing at eight last night? B:I was taking a shower. What was she doing at the time of the rainstorm? A:… Then have a little competition to look at which pair is correct and quick.</p><p>    Step 7 Practice</p><p>4a, Show the sentences on the screen:1. While John was taking photos,Mary bought a drink. 2.John was taking photos when Mary bought a drink. And ask the students to speak out the difference between while and when. Help the students if necessary. Then ask the students to look at the table border="1" and write sentences with both while and when.</p><p>4b, Fill in the blanks with was,were,when or while. Then ask some students to report their answers.</p><p>4c, What were you doing at these times last Sunday? Fill in the chart. Then ask your partner. Finally ask some pairs to act out their dialogue.</p><p>Step 8 Homework</p><p>A terrible earthquake(地震)happened in Sichuan Province in 2008,which destroyed a lot of houses and made so many people lose their homes.As students,how can we help each other? Write a short passage about it.</p><h5>课堂作业</h5><p>写一个短文介绍你的家人在昨晚八点的时候正在做什么。</p><h5>教学反思</h5><p>对已学知识的巩固及真实的情景使学生容易学会如何表达并容易接受所要学的新知识。把新知识融入到不同形式的活动中更能激发学生的兴趣和求知欲,学习效果好。</p>
