T:Show one picture of the story The Emperor’s New Clothes. </p> <p>2. Ask some questions about it. e.g.</p> <p>1)Look at the picture. Do you know this story? </p> <p>What’s the name of this story? </p> <p>S1:The Emperor’s New Clothes. </p> <p>2) Can you tell the story briefly? </p> <p>S2:Once upon a time,an emperor loved new clothes very much. Once two brothers came to the city and made a special clothes for the emperor. They asked for much gold and silk, but they kept them for themselves. They pretended to work for a long time every day. The at last,the special clothes was OK. But nobody could see it. But No one said it until one young boy shouted that the emperor wore nothing.  </p> <p>Step 4 Presentation </p> <p>1. Present the new words on the big screen and learn the new words together.  </p> <p>2. Students read and try to remember the new words:silk,emperor,underwear,gold,stupid,cheat.  </p> <p>Step 5 Work on 1a-1d</p> <p>Work on 1a:  </p> <p>1. Ask one student read words in 1a. Tell students to match the words with the letters in the pictures in 1b. </p> <p>2. Let some students tell their answers. Then check together. </p> <p>3. Try to remember the new words.  </p> <p>Work on 1b: </p> <p>1. Tell students to look at the pictures in 1c. Tell them these are the pictures from the story: The Emperor’s New Clothes. Listen to the tapes and number the pictures. </p> <p>2. Play the recording for the students. Students just listen for the first time. Play the recording again and number the pictures.  </p> <p>3. Check the answers. </p> <p>Work on 1c: </p> <p>1. Let students read the sentences in 1c first. Tell students to listen again and fill in the blanks with the right words. </p> <p>2. Play the recording again for the students to listen and write the words.   </p> <p>3. Students listen to the recording carefully and try to write the right words.  </p> <p>Check the answers with the class.   </p> <p>Keys:clothes,brothers,give,kept,looked,saw,shouted,wearing</p> <p>Step 6 Telling the story  </p> <p>1. Work in groups. Tell the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes. Use the information in 1c and 1d.   </p> <p>2. Let some groups tell the story to the class. </p> <p>Step 7 Self Check </p> <p>Work on Self Check 1  </p> <p>1. Review the use of unless, as soon as, so…that. </p> <p>2. Let students read the sentences in Self Check 1. Then students try to make their own sentences.  </p> <p>3. Let some students read their sentences. Correct the mistakes.  </p> <p>Work on Self Check 2 </p> <p>1. Tell students to read the short passage and fill in the blanks with the proper forms of the verbs in the brackets.  </p> <p>2. Tell students try to read through the passage first. Then try to fill in the blanks. Make sure to use the right tense. </p> <p>3. Students work by themselves and try to fill in the blanks. </p> <p>4. Check the answers with the class. </p> <p>Step 8 Homework</p> <p>Remember the words and phrases of this class.</p> <h5></h5>
